You will need the following for your application:

Information to be provided

  • Name, CVR number, business code and business model
  • Turnover, payments and expected use of accounts
  • Key persons – beneficial owners, authorised signatories, members of the board of directors and mandate holders (names, addresses, civil registration (CPR) numbers and citizenships)

Copies to be uploaded

  • Copy of health insurance card
  • Copy of passport or driver’s licence
  • You must upload proof of identity for yourself and other key people


Cost of setting up an account solution

Establishment fee:
If you are a personal customer with Danske Bank:            From DKK 2,000 (DKK 2,500 per 1 May 2023)*
If you are not a personal customer with Danske Bank:    From DKK 4,000 (DKK 5,000 per 1 May 2023)*
*Individual fee for complex cases.


In addition to the establishment fee, you pay a monthly fee of between DKK 79 and DKK 279 (DKK 99-299 per 1 May 2023) for one of our solutions. FAQ

  • You will find that we ask detailed questions about your business and ask for proof of identity and possibly for documentation. There are a number of reasons for that:

    • We want to get to know your business well, so we can provide you with the solutions best suited to support your business's strategy and growth at all times.
    • We have an important societal responsibility for ensuring that our customers are sound legitimate businesses that operate responsibly. At the same time, we – like other banks – must comply with applicable rules, such as the Danish Anti-Money Laundering Act (hvidvaskloven).

    Should we reject your application, it would typically be because we do not understand your business model or your expected transactions. For example, how you generate a profit, whether the business has the right expertise or whether the working conditions are in order. In other words, we must be confident that the business is sound and legitimate.

    To ensure that your business meets the requirements, we perform an analysis and a description of you as the applicant. We then set up your products.

    Among other things, you will find that we ask about:

    • how your business will use our products and services
    • whether the business will be transferring money abroad
    • whether the business has many cash payments

    All the information you provide will of course be treated as confidential.

  • We store the information for as long as your business is a customer with us and for five years thereafter. If you would like to know more about how we process personal data, we refer you to the ‘Danske Bank A/S privacy notice for business customers’ document’.

  • Yes, we have the right as well as a legal obligation to ask you the questions necessary for us to know our customers and understand their use of Danske Bank.

    Our obligation to know our customers is, among other things, described in

    • the Danish Executive Order on Good Business Practice for Financial Undertakings (bekendtgørelsen for god skik for finansielle institutioner)
    • the Danish Anti-Money Laundering Act (hvidvaskloven)
    • FATCA and CRS (in Danish), which are international laws ratified by Denmark and the EU about the identification of bank customers’ tax liability

    The Danish Financial Services Authority (FSA) acts as the supervisory authority and ensures that Danske Bank and all other banks in Denmark adhere to the rules.

    It is a matter for each individual bank to assess which questions and information it deems necessary to enable it to meet the intended requirements of the various laws.
  • If you are a personal customer with Danske Bank, you can set up a business account for as little as DKK 2,000 (DKK 2,500 per 1 May 2023), which is one of the lowest fees on the market. If you are not already a customer with us, the lowest possible fee is DKK 4,000 (DKK 5,000 per 1 May 2023).

    When we set up new business customers, we must familiarise ourselves thoroughly with the business and must understand what our customers do and where they intend to use our products and services. Furthermore, we must obtain various proof of identity and documentation as well as get the products ready for use. All that requires a great deal of resources and time, which is the reason for why we charge a fee for opening an account.
