Order Mastercard Platin

With the Mastercard Platin card, you choose whether you want to use the card as a debit card or a credit card. If you use it as a debit card, the amount is charged to your account immediately. If you instead use it as a credit card, you can defer payment for up to six weeks without having to pay interest.

To choose between debit and credit, you insert your card into the payment terminal and then select the appropriate button on the terminal. If you use the card for contactless payments, the card automatically functions as a debit card, and the money is therefore charged to your account immediately.

You choose each time

Please be aware that you must choose between credit card and debit card each time you use your card. This applies both when you shop in physical stores and when you shop online. When making an online purchase, you find the card number on the back of the card and then choose either the credit or debit card number.

You have up to six weeks of interest-free credit on your Mastercard Platin card. This means that you automatically defer payment for your purchase – without incurring any interest charges.

The exact interest-free period depends on which date of the month you use the card. Making a purchase immediately after the 20th of the month will give you the longest interest-free period. This is because we settle your credit card transactions for one month at a time on the 19th of every month, while you pay your credit card bill on the 1st of every month.

With Mastercard Platin, your credit limit is usually a minimum of DKK 50,000, but you can ask for a higher credit limit if you so wish.

This is an option for you if you have a Mastercard credit card issued before 4 October 2023 with an agreement on payment in instalments.

With Mastercard Platin, you can also select individual purchases on your credit card and split the payments into smaller instalments. You can split all purchases for more than DKK 500 into 2-12 instalments – at a competitive interest rate.

This means that you do not need to worry if your washing machine breaks down at the same time as your car needs service. If you buy a new washing machine using your Mastercard Platin card, you can pay back the amount in instalments. This way you spread the cost over several months in return for paying interest.

Your Mastercard Platin card gives you access to Danske Concierge, which can assist you through the many services it offers. Need to send flowers home, order concert tickets, reserve a table at a special restaurant, or book flight tickets? Simply call Danske Concierge, who will be ready to assist you with almost anything – day or night, all year round. They will do everything they can to accommodate your request.

Mastercard Platin gives you access to airport lounges around the world with Priority Pass – and you even have four free visits included every year of membership.

You also have access to Danske Bank’s Aviator Business Lounge at Copenhagen Airport – and can take a guest. Relax in comfortable surroundings with food and beverages – as well as access to Wifi – before your trip. The lounge is in the departure area on the 1st floor between gates A and B.

Mastercard comes in several variants. The Basis, Guld and Platin cards are credit cards, and when you pay using these cards, you can get up to 6 weeks of interest-free credit. You can always view your purchases in your Mastercard account.

We add up purchases for the past 30 days on the 19th of every month and send you an invoice. The only thing you have to do is check that the amounts are correct. On the 1st of the following month, we automatically transfer the money from your salary account. This way, your Mastercard account balance is again zero, and you have not paid anything in interest.

Visa/Dankort: Debit card

A Visa/Dankort card is a debit card. This means the amount is charged to your account shortly after you have used the card – regardless of whether you use the card in Denmark or abroad.

Using a Visa/Dankort card therefore means you can easily get an overview of how much money you have spent. 

When using the card abroad, in foreign webshops, and in stores in Denmark that only accept Visa, there is a spending limit of DKK 25,000 per rolling 30 days.

Mastercard Hverdag+: Debit card

Mastercard Hverdag+ is also a debit card. It functions like a Visa/Dankort card in that your purchase is immediately charged to your account. You can use the card in Denmark and abroad – and spend up to DKK 100,000 a day.

Mastercard credit card

If you have a Mastercard Basis, Guld or Platin card issued by Danske Bank, they function as both a credit card and a debit card.

• You can select the payment function you wish to use on the payment terminal.
• When shopping online, you do this by selecting one of the two card numbers on the back of the card.
• When you make a contactless payment, you are always using the debit function – in other words, the payment will be charged to your account right away.

The spend limit on the debit function is DKK 30,000 a day.

You can submit a dispute if you see card transactions on your account that you do not recognise or accept. For example, if you have shopped online and have not received your purchase, we may well be able to help you.

Before contacting us, however, you must try to solve the problem with the shop or website yourself. If you cannot find a solution within 2-4 weeks of the purchase date, you should quickly submit a dispute. 

If you suspect that your card has been used fraudulently, you must block it right away and then submit a dispute.
